General Information about Printing at the Creative Media Center
The CMC offers access to Laser and Inkjet Printing during Open Lab times scheduled 6 days per week.

Otherwise, during the times in which the CMC is scheduled to host classes, access to printers is limited to the HP Color and B/W Laser Printers as well as the automated Epson 3000 Ink Jet printer.

About Custom Materials and Printing in the CMC.
Laser Printers:
• The CMC provides paper for the HP2300 and HP 5500 laser printers and that paper is already loaded in the printers.

• The CMC does not allow custom paper stock to be used with the laser printers due to the potential risk of damage.

Inkjet Printers:
• The CMC does not supply paper for use in the Epson 3000 Inkjet Printer.
Students must supply their own:
• 13" x 19" paper for the Epson 3000.
• 8.5" x 11" paper for the Epson 3000.

• The CMC does supply paper for use in the Epson 7500 and Epson 10000CF Inkjet Printers.
• Epson 7500 uses 24" wide semi gloss paper
• Epson 10000CF uses 44" wide semi gloss paper
• All services related to these 2 printers are always handled by CMC lab staff during CMC Open Lab times only.

About Custom Materials for use in CMC Inkjet Printers:
• Students may chose to supply their own Epson® or other brand of manufactured Ink Jet paper, canvas, etc. on a roll for printing. However, results may vary if the material is not Epson® brand material.

• All Custom Printing Material must be approved by lab manager during normal weekday open lab hours before lab assistant can use it.

• BEFORE you purchase custom printing material, request an appointment to meet with the CMC Manager during weekday open lab hours to discuss the material that you would like to use.

• Material costs will not be refunded in the event of flawed printing to this material. Requests for the use of custom materials are made at the student's own risk.

• A portion of the material supplied is subject for use by the CMC staff for printing tests or misprints.

• All printing fees will be charged even in the event that the print is not satifactory due to unexpected results using custom materials.

• The use of custom materials will significantly add to the processing time required to complete printing requests.

• Material must be provided to the CMC on the manufacture's roll in the same pristine condition in which it was prepared by the manufacturer. Custom material that is prepared in any other manner can not be used.

• The CMC recommends that students purchase Epson® Brand paper products formulated for use with Epson® Brand inkjet inks.

• These papers are, but are not limited to, Epson® Brand Premium Semigloss Photo Paper, Epson® Brand Photo Paper, or other Epson® Brand Papers the for Best Output results in our inkjet printers.

Printing with the Epson 3000

• Students MUST provide their own Epson paper for the Epson 3000 Inkjet Printer.

• Payment must be made at time of printing through your GSU Identification Card / Panther Cash. Money may be added to your GSU Panther Card though this link.

• Services may be limited due to demand and speed of printers. Printing takes 20 to 30 minutes per print with student use.

• You will need to sign in at the printing station desk to print your project on the Epson 3000 during peak usage times.

• Students are responsible for accuracy of document, color, and printer settings.

• Suggested and proven settings ad visual guides for printing and page setup in Adobe Illustrator CS and Adobe Photoshop CS are available.

• Mistakes made due to students' inaccurate settings are still debited at normal rate through Panther Print.

Epson 3000 prices were reduced 8/2/2007.

• This printer is the "Good Choice" for use to print graphic images or if desired result is "Color Matched" or contains CMYK or simulated spot (Pantone®) colors

• Not recommended for use with Epson® Brand Photo Paper or other high Gloss Epson® Brand Papers

HP 2300 B/W Laser Printer

• The CMC provides standard bond copy paper for this printer.

• HP5500 prices were reduced 8/20/2007.

• The CMC provides bright white laser copy paper for this printer.

• Custom paper stock can not be used with this printer due tto the potential for damage.

Printing with the Epson 10000CF
Epson 10000CF Printing Policies:

• (1) "Print Request Form" must be completed and submitted for each print requested. Print request Forms are available at the CMC lab monitor's desk or online at: http://www.cmc.gsu.edu/cmcforms.html

• Payment in full using personal checks, with proper identification, is required before printing will begin.

• Cash can not be accepted for payment.

• Panther Cash can not be accepted for Epson 10000CF prints.

• Students may only submit requests and make payments for printing for the CMC's large and medium format inkjet printers during Open Lab.

• Students can not drop off projects to have them printed.

• Students are required to remain in the lab while your project files are printing. If you leave, you will lose you spot in line to print and the lab attendant will stop assisting you or overseeing the printing of your files. In other words, if you are not continually present, progress on printing your project will stop.

• Paper stock is Epson Premium Semi-Gloss Photo Paper
@ 44" x 30" base paper size. Actual image area is 43" x 29" (base size @ $30.00 each + $1.00 per additional linear inch)
• 44" wide format printer
• Maximum resolution 1440 x 720 dpi
• Uses 6-color EPSON Archival™ Inks

Printing with the Epson 7500
Epson 7500 Printing Policies:

• Time limits set for inkjet printing are that no files can be printed if there is less that 20 minutes left during the current open lab. No exceptions.

• This time limit established because student lab staff and students can not remain in the CMC after the posted closing time of open lab nor can CMC student staff insure that prints will be kept safely or made available at a later point in time.

• CMC Large Format Printing Assistance is only available to currently enrolled GSU Art and Design students. CMC Printing Services and Assistance are not provided for professional or commercial use.

• Paper stock provided is Epson Premium Semi-Gloss Photo Paper.

• Students must speak directly to the attending Lab Assistant who, if possible, will determine if there is adequate time to print you files during that lab session.

• Images submitted with the improper document size will be either rejected and the job stopped or it will be scaled proportionately to match the maximum dimension purchased.

• We suggest that all files for prints be prepared as flat Adobe Photoshop CS2/CS3 or Illustrator CS2/CS3 files with all text and headlines converted to outline vector graphics. CS1 versions are also acceptable.
